Creative Monsoon is an Australian surface pattern design studio creating original illustrations and colour driven collections for commercial licensing across homewares, textiles, stationery and lifestyle products.

Led by artist, illustrator and surface pattern designer Jenn Bell, the studio develops cohesive, repeat ready pattern ranges designed to translate seamlessly across product categories.

With over 30 years of experience across fine art, publishing and commercial design, Jenn has worked on global campaigns for brands including L’Oréal and Procter & Gamble, and her work has featured in publications such as Real Living, Ideal Home, Grazia, Grand Designs Australia, PopSugar, Harper’s Bazaar and The Knot.

How Creative Monsoon Designs Come to Life

Each collection begins with quick, exploratory sketches, often created in Jenn’s Brisbane studio or at a local café with a good coffee. This early stage is all about developing ideas and refining the direction of a collection.

Some sketches are then developed further with colour using pen, helping define the personality of the design. The artwork is then recreated digitally, allowing for precise control of colour, scale and composition.

Final designs are developed into seamless repeat patterns, ready for commercial application across homewares, textiles, stationery and lifestyle products.
